Our team of professional photographers and image editors have created award-winning architectural images for more than 21,000 hotels in 131 countries. As demand for our creative content grows, we’re looking for a full-time Senior Brand Manager.

Job Purpose:
This Senior Brand Manager is a strategic client contact and advisor, with visible ongoing engagement, to help drive the most successful outcomes. This role is responsible for the day to day management of multiple hospitality brands, driving processes and profitability while proactively managing and developing brand team members. 

**This is a full-time, in-house position only open to candidates currently living in or willing to relocate to the Vancouver, BC area.** Individual must be willing to travel to various locations throughout the world for photoshoots when required - passport to be up-to-date with no travel restrictions.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Client Relationship Management and Development:

  • Own client relationship on assigned brands; be and be seen as point-person
  • Build trusting relationships with clients with the ability to adapt to various corporate and geographical cultures around the world
  • Solve client issues; independently moderate complex challenges
  • Be a brand steward and effectively influence the client to achieve brand objectives
  • Effectively sell the VRX Studios quality and service to existing client
  • Manage inbound client requests and delegate amongst team


Executional Ownership and Guidance of Projects:

  • Proactively lead and project manage all projects you own, including large scale location shoots
  • Estimating, development of shot lists, work back schedules, pre-pro meetings, post production delivery of content, invoicing, to name a few
  • Attend location shoots when client is present (approx 5 - 6 times per year) and/or lifestyle shoots
  • Single handedly lead client calls and presentations (pre-pro calls, mood boards presentations, etc)
  • Ensure flawless execution and profitability of projects from pre-shoot to on-site and post-production stages; own costing and cost analysis for each project


    Financial Leadership and Organic Revenue Growth:

    • Understand agency profitability model and ensure client work is completed within budget
    • Own the revenue and forecast for brands you lead and those that report to you
    • Contribute to organic business development by seeking growth opportunities with existing clients
    • Determine and negotiate budget needs; provide input to fee development


    Internal Leadership and Management:

    • Mentor and develop junior level brand team members to promote individual career growth
    • Keep management informed of account status, problems, plans, and meetings


    Industry Knowledge and Thought Leadership:

    • Have a comprehensive understanding of hospitality and tourism industry
    • Be alert to changes and trends in clients’ marketplace; proactively offer solutions and POV
    • Cultivate relationships with thought leaders to maintain strong knowledge of client’s business
    • Be an expert in multiple channels and audiences to act agnostically when recommending solutions



    QUALIFICATION AND COMPETENCIES

    What you will do:

    Day-to-Day Client Management
    The Brand Manager is responsible for management of the day-to-day initiatives of their designated account/s. The Brand Manager is instrumental in the development and implementation of new projects/plans as well as the ongoing maintenance of existing projects to ensure successful execution. You will manage specific brand accounts under companies such as Hilton, Hyatt, Fairmont, Intercontinental Hotel Group, to name a few.

    Cultivate Client Relationships
    You are adept to establishing quality relationships and engage firsthand with high-level/prestigious brands and the client leads; manage all standard account leadership requirements (discovery calls, strategic recommendations, costing, project management through to delivery) as well as to manage expectations, address inquiries, and assess customer requirements with accuracy.

    Knowledge/Creativity
    You either bring knowledge, or have the ability to develop expertise in industry trends and research related to the accounts you lead in order to keep up with and understand the hospitality industry best practices and emerging strategies. This knowledge will be what will keep our business and our clients business maintaining a competitive edge (connect those to client’s objectives through development of forward-thinking strategies).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Be the project and client expert
    • Develop/review all client-facing materials including presentations, marketing strategies, media/social recommendations
    • Develop solid relationships with client peers and agency associates, managing workflow and client expectations accordingly
    • Keep the client informed of all project timelines and alert them to any potential delays
    • Deliver communications in a clear, concise and consistent manner, keep the team informed to any changes in project direction, client/competitive climate
    • Oversee the development and accuracy of project timelines and budgets
    • Recognize opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell current offerings
    • Ensure clients are delivering what we need to make the idea successful (reviews, approvals etc)
    • Ensure flawless execution
    • Oversee client budget and/or scope tracker
    • Adhere to financial policies (timesheets, expense reports, estimates, purchase orders, proformas, invoice submissions to client etc.)

    Regional Architectural Photographer

    VRX Studios is a global, full-service Visual Content Agency specializing in Photography, Videography and strategy.     As a VRX Studios photographer you will have the opportunity to shoot a range of exciting and challenging projects. You will be expected to plan, manage and execute both large and small projects, problem solve uniquely challenging situations, interact with and educate teams and clients alike, and deliver potentially award-winning images. 

    All our photographers start out as Regional Architectural Photographers, where you will be responsible for conducting photography assignments within your geographic region. As your image quality, photographic skills, commitment and overall leadership abilities are proven, you will have the opportunity to move up to Preferred Photographer and Senior Photographer roles where you will be involved in larger more complex international projects. 

    All photographers report directly to our Head of Photography and are responsible for conducting, managing and delivering photography assignments within the assigned time frames and spec. Assignments include, but are not limited to architectural, destination, food & beverage, lifestyle and drone photography and can be anywhere between 1 and 15 days in length.  VRX Studios manages all the pre-shoot logistic and planning as well as all the post-shoot editing and final delivery to our clients. We do not require our photographers to do any postproduction or editing. All images will be delivered to VRX Studios via FTP in raw unedited format.

    To be considered for the position you must be…

    • Experienced in architectural photography
    • A creative thought leader, able to educate and inspire through visual content storytelling
    • Passionate about photography, have an excellent eye for composition, style and lighting
    • Have a complete technical and visual understanding of all aspects of photography. This includes equipment knowledge, composition, lighting and post-processing techniques
    • Have an exceptionally strong work ethic
    • Able to communicate clearly and effectively and can interact with ease with both our teams and directly with our clients
    • Able to problem solve effectively and think quickly on your feet under pressure
    • Offer exceptional customer service
    • Have a pleasant and warm personality; be good with people and eager to learn
    • Self-motivated, self-disciplined and ambitious with high personal and professional standards
    • Able to effectively manage your schedule and availability
    • Willing to travel and be on the road for anywhere between 3 days to 5 weeks at a time


    To qualify, you must have all the following equipment:

    • 2 x 21-megapixel (or better) full frame camera bodies
    • All 3 of the following lenses
    • 16-35mm f2.8
    • 24-70mm f2.8
    • 70-200mm f2.8
    • Any tilt-shift lenses are a plus
    • At least 2 Speedlite’s with a minimum guide number of 190ft (58m) at 105mm at ISO 100. Flashes must be capable of being fired remotely either through RF or IF.
    • A recent model laptop with appropriate software
    • A 2TB portable external hard drive
    • Remote shutter release switch (wired or wireless)
    • Durable, solid tripod with a 3-axis head. Lightweight tripods are recommended for travel; however, these must still be stable when fully extended.
    • Any standard panoramic head incl. bracket. The Nodal Ninja 4 is recommended.
    • A suitable camera bag capable of safely fitting all your equipment. It is recommended to use a versatile rolling camera bag that is the maximum TSA approved size for carry-on luggage.


    Photographers must also have:

    • Valid driver’s license and a fully insured car in good working order
    • Valid passport with no restrictions
    • $2M general liability insurance to cover you while on assignments
    • Valid credit card with a minimum of $2K available credit to cover assignment expenses, which will be re-reimbursed by VRX.


    All travel expenses and per diems are paid on top of daily rates.
