ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHER

VRX Studios, Voted by Profit Magazine in 2007 as one of Canada’s Fastest Growing Companies, has a fantastic opportunity for photographers passionate about architectural photography to join its team.

As a contract photographer for VRX Studios, you will be responsible for shooting new hotels in your region as well as keeping the photography fresh for all existing hotels and attractions. Assignments will range in duration from one to thirty days depending on our client’s schedules. Spring, Summer and Fall are our busy times in North America. Reporting directly to VRX’s Head of Photography in Vancouver, Canada, you will be an integral part of our US photography team.

This opportunity is perfect for photographers who have studied architectural photography and are wishing to gain extensive hands-on-experience or for freelance architectural photographers that are looking to compliment an existing portfolio of clients.

This position requires 5 days of training in Vancouver. VRX Studios will cover all training costs, with the exception of airfare and hotel. Training must be completed and passed to be offered a contract.

To be considered for the position you must:

  • be available to travel for extended periods of time (up to 30 days)
  • be prepared to work an average of 10 hours a day
  • own a Nikon D300 with 12-24mm lens and 18-200mm lens or above* OR Canon 5D with 16-36mm lens and 28 -200mm lens and remote control or above*
  • Greater than 13.0 Mega Pixels and must shoot NEF or RAW
  • SB800 Flash for Nikon with diffuser, or Canon Speedlite 430EX or 580EXll
  • own a laptop (Mac or Windows OS)
  • own a cell phone with a national plan
  • have a working and insured automobile
  • have a valid passport with no travel restrictions
  • have a valid credit card with a minimum of 2K available to cover project expenses
  • sign a non-compete agreement
  • have a pleasant, outgoing personality
  • be an effective communicator
  • have a passion for architectural photography
  • be able to make a commitment to the position for a minimum of 12 months
  • have liability insurance
