An inspiring workspace:
The ambiance of VRX's offices is a balanced blend of business and personality. A walk around the office will
uncover imaginative personal items on desks or workstations - toys, stickers, photos, cards, cut-outs, even managers'
desks are decorated with colourful sculptures, creative artwork and, of course, photographs. Our walls feature our
company's Core Values, providing a guiding hand for our creative and innovative spirit.
907 meetings:
Every Monday morning, at "9:07 AM" we group together for a quick company meeting to let everyone know what each
team is up to that week and to discuss major projects and initiatives at hand. This helps the team feel connected
and to understand how their efforts contribute to our ongoing success.
Open environment:
If you've never worked in an open environment, you're missing out. It's refreshing, energetic and highly effective
at inspiring innovation, creativity and team work. There are very few doors at VRX as we believe in the open environment
concept and have found it to be a main contributor to our success over the years.
Seasonal activities:
VRX Studios is a fun place to work. Organized events are important ingredients in our culture. During annual holidays
such as Halloween or Christmas, the office is transformed into a festive display of lights, costumes and decorations.
TEAM BUILDING AND OTHER FUN EVENTS
VRX is a young, fun, and energetic place to work that consistently attracts the top performers in their field. Free
flowing communication between team members and departments is critical to us ‘Succeeding as a Team'. To encourage
teambuilding, we hold various events throughout the year, from the odd Friday afternoon kegger and go carting in the
summer to tubing down Grouse Mountain at Christmas. We definitely work hard at VRX as we have some pretty heady goals
and ambitions; but in order to do this we also take time occasionally to enjoy the spoils.
Everyone at VRX helps foster a positive corporate culture. Imaginative and competitive events build rapport and team work.
All team members, including management, get to know one another as people - not just workmates. VRX's team building events
allow team members to learn how to work better together while completing a fun challenge.
Summer BBQ:
A fun weekend afternoon spent with coworkers and their families, relaxing around good food,
warm sunshine and Vancouver's famous beaches.
Annual Go-Kart Challenge:
Everyone looks forward to the annual Go-Kart afternoon. Competitive
spirits are elevated, engines are revved, and prizes are awarded to the top three racers. Bring your best game though
as David has won the top spot 75% of the time.
Annual Egg Launch:
Grouped in small teams and using a limited set of materials, team members are tasked
with launching an egg as far as they can from one side of David Lam Park. The all time winners? VRX's Tech Team in 1996:
Over a kilometre! Make sure you ask David the story when you meet him. Teams are awarded special prizes for distance,
creativity and just pure silliness.
Annual Marshmallow Challenge:
Another fun event! VRX team members are divided into teams of three or
four and tasked with building the tallest tower possible using only marshmallows and dry spaghetti noodles. Teams
are given 45 minutes to complete their task and their masterpieces must remain standing for at least 5 minutes to quality.
